The idea behind Evernote is simple, a single destination for every note you have be it a voice or text. Video, pics, to-dos, audio message, web clips, and web bookmarks, all tagged, and synchronized between your PC/Mac, the Evernote Web App, and your BlackBerry.  The uses are endless.

The Good

Evernote for BlackBerry Uses:

  1. Clip some directions and look them up when you’re trying to find your destination
  2. Maintain a list of restaurants you want to try – the list will be handy when you’re out trying to figure out where you’d like to eat
  3. Have a news article you saved that you want to show your friend? Let them read it on your BlackBerry from Evernote
  4. Shopping List? Keep it in Evernote and check against your list on your BlackBerry in the grocery

Evernote for BlackBerry is compatible with recent BlackBerry smartphones. Currently supported devices are:

Many older BlackBerry smartphones can be upgraded to newer operating systems. You’ll need to check with your BlackBerry vendor or carrier.
Unfortunately, due to device limitations, some smartphones will not be compatible with Evernote for BlackBerry.

The Bad

Do note some critical features that are missing in Evernote for BlackBerry

  1. The ability to save notes offline.  Notes can be ENTERED offline, but they cannot be saved locally and synced later as can be done with the PC app.
  2. The ability to edit notes in the BlackBerry app rather than through the web browser.
  3. The editor in the web browser is not so attractive
  4. Search results need to show up in the web browser.
