my earlier post on 3Gdisable.com was talking a easier way to disable & stop the disgusting uninvited involuntary iPhone 3G , GPRS , EDGE data charges. however 3Gdisable also charge you a small fee. Here is a good news for advance MAC user to  stop iPhone 3G , unwanted 3g, EDGE, GPRS data charges for FREE. HOwever BetaMIx way is far more complicated.. if you not confident & capable PLS ask your advance MAC user friend to disable & stop the iPhone 3G data charges for you.

This is a Betamix way by Enable Tethering on iPhone 3.1.2 – ONLY 3G & 3GS Supported.

for older firmware, iPhone 3.0 & older , iPhone 2G pls try HERE , HERE & HERE for FREE

*Currently its For Mac user only (tested with Snow Leopard) *must have installed mobileTerminal on iPhone 3Gs first

Only iPhone 3G & 3Gs with firmware 3.1.2 is supported

1. Download commcenter.patch to Mac desktop

-for iPhone 3G

-for iPhone 3Gs

2. copy Copy /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter to your Desktop also.
Open the Terminal and:
cd Desktop

bspatch CommCenter CommCenter-hacked CommCenter.patch

1. Rename commcenter-hacked to CommCenter
2. Rename commcenter on your iPhone 3Gs to CommCenter.backup
3. Copy & paste the CommCenter to iPhone 3Gs
4. SSH into iPhone / use Mobileterminal as root & chmod +755 as the new CommCenter so it can be execute
5. Restart iPhone 3G
6. Double check your iPhone 3Gs setting >General>Network , you should see Tethering option.
7. If you failed to see Tethering there, try go to http://help.benm.at on iPhone 3Gs & install mobileconfig
8. If all steps above success than you could disable & stop iPhone 3G , unwanted 3g, EDGE, GPRS data charges for FREE
