Avatars for Facebook, Youtube, Myspace and Twitter and other Social Websites

In another post earlier, I’ve mentioned about how to find cool usernames.  Next best thing you can do to setup your profile will be choosing an avatar.  There are a few free avatar creation tools that you can use to create your own creative and unique avatars.

The best I would recommend is Picnik.  Picnik is not only can be used to create avatar but also can be use to as picture editor and furthermore it is an online tool and no installation required.  Just a simple registration and you are all set.  You may want to use Paint but the quality is not so good.

If you have ready image files ready to use, you can use Picnik to create your own avatar.  All you have to do is as follow:

1. Click on upload photo.  Browse to your image files.  Most of the image file format are supported e.g.  .bmp, .jpg, .png, .gif and etc.

2. Click on open and wait for it to upload.

3. You will arrive at the editing interface where you can crop to the size for the social websites you intend to use.

4. Click on the Save & Share tab, check the file size is not too big e.g. less than 100Kb should be fine.  Click on Save Photo to save to a location in your hard drive.

For lazy bum like me, I’ll pick and choose a ready made from the web – e.g. at http://.101avatar.com
